Transneft Modernizes East Siberia-Pacific Ocean Main Oil Pipeline

Russian company PJSC Transneft has commenced a comprehensive modernization of the key East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) main oil pipeline. The primary objective of the project is to increase the pipeline's throughput capacity by 20%. The work involves replacing pumping equipment and upgrading control systems. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of export infrastructure, which will enable increased volumes of Russian oil supplies to Asian markets, primarily to China. The project aligns with the development strategy of the Russian energy sector and strengthens Transneft's position as the operator of this critically important transportation artery.
