China's Cyberspace Administration Summons 'Jianying', 'Catbox' Apps and 'Jimeng AI' Website

The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) recently found that the 'Jianying' and 'Catbox' apps, as well as the 'Jimeng AI' website, failed to effectively implement the labeling requirements for AI-generated synthetic content, violating laws such as the Cybersecurity Law. The CAC has directed local authorities to take punitive measures against the aforementioned platforms, including summoning them for talks, ordering corrections, issuing warnings, and imposing severe penalties on responsible individuals, in order to strengthen compliance management of AI content.
