India and Australia signed a significant agreement in 2026 for the supply of uranium. This agreement is based on the previous 2014 pact, which changed Australia's 1978 policy that allowed uranium sales only to countries that had signed the NPT. Under the new agreement, all uranium supplies from Australia to India will be under IAEA monitoring.
