Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK) has completed the consolidation of mining and metallurgical assets in Russia and Kazakhstan, establishing a vertically integrated structure. The headquarters of the new unified company is located in Yekaterinburg. As a result of this transaction, UGMK has become Russia's third-largest producer of refined copper, controlling 16% of the market. The consolidation aims to strengthen the company's position across the value chain—from ore extraction to the production of finished metallurgical products. This move enhances its operational efficiency and competitiveness in domestic and, potentially, international markets.
