Dubai-based startup Xpanceo, founded by Russian expatriates, showcased significant progress in developing smart contact lenses at the MWC 2026 exhibition. The device prototype features an integrated micro-display, a microbattery with wireless charging, and a platform for monitoring biomarkers. The company has secured support from Nobel laureate Konstantin Novoselov, who chairs its scientific advisory board. A public demonstration of the first fully integrated prototype is scheduled for early 2027. This development represents a breakthrough in wearable electronics and medical devices, combining hardware (lenses, sensors, display, battery) with software solutions for data analysis.
