Western Mining Group Achievement Selected Among Top Ten Geological Science and Technology Advances of 2025 by China Geological Survey
The project "3D Alteration-Mineralization-Element Model Guiding Deep and Peripheral Exploration and Reserve Increase of Copper Deposits on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau", jointly carried out by Western Mining Group and the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, has been selected among the Top Ten Geological Science and Technology Advances of 2025 by the China Geological Survey. The project achieved a major exploration breakthrough in the southern and deep parts of the Yulong mining area, adding 1,314,200 tonnes of copper resources and 107,700 tonnes of molybdenum resources (approximately equivalent to 1.72 billion USD and 141 million USD respectively based on current copper and molybdenum prices), providing important guidance for deep and peripheral exploration and reserve increase of large copper deposits on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
