Akimov: Russian IT Companies Should Displace Foreign Competitors

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov has called for creating favorable conditions for domestic telecommunications equipment manufacturers in the domestic market so they can displace foreign competitors. Simultaneously, the Russian IT company Eltex announced the launch of the second phase of its production. The company has set an ambitious goal of capturing 30-35% of the Russian telecommunications equipment market within the next two to three years. This statement reflects an import substitution strategy in a key segment of IT infrastructure and indicates plans to redistribute market shares in favor of local players.
