Zijin Mining has set a target of 1.2 million tonnes of mined copper by 2026, and 1.5-1.6 million tonnes by 2028, aiming to rank among the top three global copper producers. China's leading copper mining companies are expected to produce a total of approximately 2.537 million tonnes of mined copper in 2025, and by 2028, the combined output of Chinese companies is projected to exceed 3.5 million tonnes, increasing their global share from 10% to over 20%.
